So it's Saturday night here in Rome and we are celebrating Bro-In-Law's 40th birthday party....

and we're live blogging:

I just came in and started this thread. Everyone is outside on the deck trying to put up the tent from the earlier Steeplechase event that was too much fun.....

Jovial Ginger: Par-tay started early this morning with the most fun oriented folks this side of the mason-dixon. The minor hiccup is the pain in Jay-D's testicle and the Tarzan's hiccups. Aside from that we noticed that there were some horses at the horse race, imagine that! Through our drunken stooper we con-cocked the most amazing beverage. We will call it The Prick. Mmmm... the secret is not to be told, but I will tell you that Pear Vodka is very important. Cheers and good times to you all!

Tarzan here: This sucks out the ass. The hiccups that is. I am having fun but this fucking hiccup thing made me forget who's birthday it is anyway. Did I mention that I can't cure the hiccups? Well enough about me. Bro-in-law is a year older but at least he can breathe and speak without sounding like a fucking fool. He has NO hiccups. This sucks!

Josie here (Aubie Jr.'s mommy and Jay-D's beeyatch): Wow has it been a while. Tonito Bandito says that I really need to read the last few months .... uh-oh, does that mean he's told some trash on me? Not possible, I'm pure as the driven snow! HAHA - LOL! Well, fun day after all. I didn't want to be at Steeplechase because of the weather forcast but the rain wasn't so bad and we had a really great time. Met some cute young things in the tent next to us. Young 20 somethings but apparantly all of us old girls still have it because we were getting hit on by them anyway. Now just having another great time at Bro-in-law's b-day party ... but then again it's always a great time with this crewe. But dammit it's going to be a late night ....... actually an early morning probably.

Jay-D-lots O-drinkin' goin' on......the girls r so hot!.. drinkin' since this morning..... now the after party has arrived.. a new level! .. just when you think it's over it begins all over again!... party hard....josie is a hottie..... not sure what's next for the night.. just glad all my friends are here..b&c are so great.. Bl0ndie here: Yes...that is correct Tonito Bandito, Blondie is here and while this blog of mine may not be as interesting as the last one, it will probably be more appropriate. While the Good Doctor and the Brother-in-Law were outside to greet me as I walked up to the party, I immediately knew it was going to be a good night. There is no ordinary, boring night at the Brother-in-Law's home, rather a celebration of drunk adults getting together, enjoying their youth (or what they have left of it...), and reminiscing on the old'n days.

Sis: OK, so the ice cream is great here.... White Dutch Chocolate is an awesome flavor - expecially aged 40 Years. Yes, we are at another function that this Roman group is throwing yet once again. Yes, Summer has started and the pool parties are about to begin. All who are anxious to listen in - Shhhhhhhh! And for Funky Brown Chick - from one sis to another - The Dutch White Chocolate is one Ice cream that is more likely to eat than be eaten. : )

Back at home after a mini spring break vacation to Ft. Lauderdale! Where to start? Left right after work on Tuesday and loaded the vehicle and hit the road.

Bro-in-Law and Sis in the front seat. The Twins (separated by their Play Station) in the middle seat. And yours truly in the back row seat with my pillow and blanket. Got to Valdosta, GA about 11:00pm and spent the night in a very scary (according to KyFace) motel room. It was the third motel that we found after the first two had scared us away with the superstitious ghost cat crossing our paths as we drove into the parking lots. Ask Sis about this!!

Got up the next morning and headed to Florida. Gorgeous sunny skies and palm trees along the way. Made our way to Port Canaveral to stop off for lunch with some good friends, the BarWheels. Had lunch right on the water at a local marina grill. Good food and fellowship.

Then off the rest of the way to Petah’s condo. Arrived around 7PM and the festivities began. Kids to the pool, unpacking the car and a light dinner and cocktails and then we went out to the Bar. Sis, Bro-In-Law, Petah and myself had a blast and met some kewl peeps.

Next day was spent at the beach and I got a bit too red even while wearing sunscreen. Oh yeah, Sis picked us up some cute eye candy on the beach too.

After a bit of rest, the next day was spent by the condo pool and then we had burgers and hot dogs. Later we went back out clubbing and stayed a bit too late and drank a wee bit much.

Saturday was spent with Bro-In-Law’s cousin and his lovely wife in Miami at their condo on Biscayne Bay. Mr and Mrs Fisherman were gracious hosts and lots of fun and laughter were had by all. Uncle J showed up later. The twins got to catch some fish and go on a boat ride on the Basura Blanca (that’s Spanish for White Trash) and we ate fish and shrimp all prepared by the lovely Mrs. Fisherman. We did manage to escape unharmed from a toxic rash and a small towel fire which made for mucho excitement. Then back to Petah’s condo to pack for the long Sunday drive home.

I am sure that I forgot some things but oh well! I will let others fill in the blanks.

My Auburn Tiger Men's Swimming and Diving won another National Championship!!

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -
The Auburn men's swimming and diving team sent head coach David Marsh out in style, winning its fifth straight national championship and seventh since 1997 Saturday night. The Tigers left little doubt, essentially clinching the team title during Saturday's prelims by advancing 11 swimmers and three divers into the finals while already holding a 102-point lead. Auburn which set five NCAA records during the meet, finished with 566 points, easily outdistancing second-place Stanford, which scored 397 points.

The Tigers' domination was evident based on the awards presented following the meet. Marsh was named NCAA Division I Men's Swimming Coach of the Year, Jeff Shaffer was named NCAA Division I Men's Diving Coach of the Year, Cesar Cielo was the NCAA Division I Men's Swimmer of the Year and Steven Segerlin was named NCAA Division I Men's Diver of the Year.

I've just finished watching the second episode of "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and all I have to say is "BRAVO"!

Just like the West Wing, Aaron Sorkin has not disappointed. Clever, fast paced dialog with an awesome cast and throwing the truth back at us like no other show has the balls to do. Again BRAVO! And NBC has balls for so greenlighting a show that is making fun of their 4th place showing in the ratings.

Definition time: PC (Politically correct) the term all the conservatives throw out as the rants of LEFT COAST LIBERALS! Don't offend anyone based on race, ethnicity, gender or by all means Sexual Orientation!!

Just Zack, the crazy nephew has a new gig while he is in Hotlanta waiting for fall classes to begin anew.

He dresses up in super hero costumes and does kid's birthday parties, sometimes doing 2 or 3 a day on the weekends. Well, he has also had to add making balloon animals to his repertoire and last weekend he came home to one of our football gatherings.

There were a few kids there and out come the balloons.

His mom (Sis) got a red rose with a green stem.

Here is my "balloon animal". Guess what it is?
If he had blue balloons instead of purple, then the planets would have aligned before my eyes.

After all the trash talking comments, I must say that I have the most ultimate respect for the Bengal Tigers of MR. BrettCajun.

What a game! But in the end the Tigers from the Plains of Alabama were victorious in the end! I say it was the home field advantage. After all, the last 6 games have been won by the home team.

Wow! What a wonderful day I had working this morning at the Rome Area Council of the Arts office today. That was my "official" volunteer duty ( heh, heh, I said doody!!). I had to babysit the office today while the staff were doing the festival circuit. It was a blast! I met some wonderful people and I got to count the first official tallies of the awards votes from the audience and enter them into the computers. I fit right in! Volunteering to work these 4 hours (11AM-3PM) gave me my full weekend free pass to catch all the wonderful creative films from some wonderful filmmakers. And for that I feel privileged.

You blog buddies will LOVE the movie, "The Bread Squeezer". I promise. I ended up with a copy on DVD and I so want to upload to YouTube but I can't yet. There is another Festival that it is playing at. But smooches to Tal and Kasia and Susan. I love all of you after letting me hang with you today.

When in Rome Do As the Romans Do--

Okay Kids! Tonight was the beginning of the Rome International Film Festival and I attended the opening night film and the after film GALA and all I have to say is WOW! For volunteering I got an all access pass to all of the events.

It was "Our Very Own" and it starred: Allison Janney from "The West Wing", Keith Carradine (Gwasshopper) from "Kung Fu", Cheryl Hines from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO and John Ritter's son, Jason who is a Hottie!. Also coming out of retirement was Mary Badham (Scout from "To Kill a Mockingbird" who has not acted since her Oscar nominated role). I got to hang out with some of the cast (Mary Badham) and it was absolutely fabulous. Also met the Director and HE IS HOT TOO! Got them all to autograph my official program.

It was a Southern Film that has yet to be picked up for distribution and I cannot explain why. The local audience was in stitches and laughing hysterically most of the time and crying at some scenes all through the movie. I asked some of the other filmmakers at the Gala and they said that the national distributors did not get all the southern humor. WTF?

At the GALA I met some wonderful independent filmmakers who made one of the short films, "The Bread Squeezer". They were fantastic and I may be seeing them again in a few weeks as they have invited me to the Birmingham "SideWalk" Film Festival in a couple of weeks where they will be attending as well. I feel like a mini celebrity...... are you jealous???

I like hanging out with all the Artsy Fartsy people. We have alot in common!

More tomorrow as the Festival lasts all weekend.

8. The Good Doctor, his lovely wife, Sis and Bro-In-Law went to see Mariah in Atlanta and got tickets in one of the suites at Phillips Arena (thanks to an insider connection) and I was thoroughly pissed that I didn't get to go.... Bitches!

7. I am going to be a volunteer at our local Rome International Film Festival coming up in September. (Yeah, believe it or not we have one here.) I figure this may be a way to meet some potential boyfriends... One can hope, can't he?

6. Josh Blue won the Last Comic Standing... Yep, I was a regular viewer and was pulling for him. He's the one with Cerebral Palsy and was one funny dude on stage. I also voted for him in the finals.

5. My Auburn Tigers began fall practice, meaning that football season is right around the corner. Can't wait!

4. The current administration completely dropped the ball to take the lead in the world to diffuse the situation in the Middle East. Bush was on vacation again. (Why do you think bad things happen when he's in Texas? 9/11 - Katrina - Israel bombing the shit out of Lebanon!!!! Coincidence?)

Ralph Reed, the poster boy for Republican corruption (tied to the Abramoff lobbying scandal) went down in defeat in the Repug primary for Lt. Governor tonight in the primaries.

Thank my lucky stars that I will not have to put up with his crap being our Lt. Governor.

And it looks like Cynthia McKinney will face a runoff for the 4th Congressional District Democratic primary. On a side note, Cindy Sheehan was at McKinney's political rally tonight speaking highly about her outspokenness, even in controversy.

Wow, Georgia politics is shaping up to be a precursor to the '06 November elections.

Wow, I didn't know Lance Armstrong was a comedian. But it seems he has a gay crush on Jake Gyllenhaal. He sure is paying him lots of attention.

Keifer sure is short standing next to Venus Williams. Maybe she is wearing 6 inch heels! Congrats to Saun Alexander for winning (even though he is an ex-Bama player and us Auburn fans hate them so much).

There are lots of Hollywood Hunks in the audience, so I guess everyone now knows my true motive for watching, huh?

Matthew McConaughey is there looking fine. He and Lance are good friends and I heard he was hanging out in Lance's dressing room making margaritas. I would so love to "hang out" with him.

Damn, the flying tomato, Sean White got cheated out of his award.

Matthew came out for a Katrina tribute looking fine in his jeans and open collared shirt. He made me cry with the story of the New Orleans high school basketball team that won the state tournament. I'm a wimp for a feel good story.

Dammit! Another Bama player won another damn award. Tyrone Prothro with his g;ynastic touchdown catch. Can you tell how much I despise Bama? Yeah, it was a pretty good catch so I will give him that.

Sean White had an erection standing next to Carmen Electra giving out the award for best female athlete. He was beside himself. Hell, if I were straight I would have been the same way. She is on my top 5 female list. Yeah, I do have one!

Boy are they promoting that silly new Will Farrell movie, Talladega Nights: The legend of Ricky Bobby. They filmed that at Talladega Speedway which was only 15 miles from where I grew up.

Ashley Judd looked like a desperate housewife in that ugly blue dress. She usually looks fabulous. But I did hear that she is recovering from depression so maybe she didn't feel like dressing up tonight. I am so bad.

Now I feel bad! Ashley is giving a presentation about women's rights under the Taliban.

Okay, I cried again when the two Afghani girls accepted the Arthur Ashe award. Seems they play soccer and they have to play behind an army base fence for their own safety.

Yay, Mariah is going to give the Best Male Athlete award. She looks great in that hot pink dress. Congrats Lance for winning for the 4th time.

Danica Patrick looked like a girly girl in that hot dress. Best game was the Rose Bowl. Yay for College Football. Matt Leinart looked hot tonight!

Jake G is giving away one of the last awards for Best Moment. I would have to nominate his kiss with Heath, but that's not a sport. OR IS IT? He is still smokin' HOT! And he sounded so soft spoken and sensitive. I want him to be my new boyfriend now. Sigh!

And guess what, I am crying again because the autistic kid won for shooting those baskets to win his junior high basketball game. Yeah, that was Best Moment.

Just Zack and I got a special invitation to a party in Sandy Springs last Sunday after the Pride celebration and so we ventured down today.

Even tho they give me alot of crap for not liking boys. But ive come to a revelation, Me being the only straight man at the party is going to be a common occurance as long as i hang with you and your 'guy friends.'... and thats ok. ill just bring a female next time and just wierd/gross the hell outta all of them! lol. The whole day was definitely another culturing expirience on my laundry list of many. Another great day in a very relaxing weekend... i give it a 10.

37 years ago on June 27th, 1969 is the day the pride movement began with the raid on the Stonewall Inn in the Village. The NYC cops raided the club and the clientele revolted and thus began the Gay Pride movement.

I can honestly say that I have been to the Stonewall Inn and watched Hillary march in the parade in 2000 when she was campaigning for the Senate from the second floor balcony. And that is my most fond memory of living in the northeast. It definitely was NOT the winter weather.

I was also there in 1999 for the parade and have the 30th anniversary T-Shirt to prove it. I also have my best friends Gwen and Wynn as witnesses as they were there with me...

Here are the pics that I managed to take before the deluge from Mother Nature rained on our parade and forced us under the shelter. The parade was festive even though it was wet. Momma Natural spared us a brief window of about an hour so the beginning of the parade made it to the final exit at Piedmont Park where the nephew and I stood guard just outside the 10th street entrance.

Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola were the main corporate sponsors of the parade, which makes sense. Both of their international headquarters are in the city, even though one of them is still trying to emerge from bankruptcy. Hence the car dressed in Delta drag.

The gay contingent of Veterans got a rousing applause, even though they cannot serve openly and honestly. Who says we don't support our troops?

There were the usual drag queens coming by in limos and we had to laugh at the straight couples (two of them) that were standing behind us. The guys kept asking if they were girls and we had to keep turning around and saying, "Dude, they are guys" over and over. Zack thought this was funny and so did I. The last one went by and he turned back to them and said, "It's another guy"! I peed my pants laughing.

And then something pissed off Mother Nature and the flood began. We ran to the nearest shelter (only about 500 feet away) and stood there and watched the tail end of the parade. While we were there, these two ladies (term used loosely) came off of one of the floats and nudged their way next to us. They were dressed appropriately for someone on a float for an adult superstore and the nephew was in heaven. They had on thongs and sexy attire and they were made up to the hilt. If the rain had not come, they would have been gorgeous but somehow looked all wet. We chit chatted and they offered us drinks from their cooler.

After spending a wonderful Sunday with my nephew attending the Atlanta Pride parade and festival, I have decided to give a shout out to all my blog friends as a gesture of togetherness.

We met strangers there who made us feel like family. I saw their faces and enjoyed their genuine-ness. And that is how I feel about my faceless blog friends. Even though I have yet to see your faces in person, I know your kindred spirits and you make me glad to be a part of this wonderful new medium. You know who you are:

I met a few of you when I first discoved the political blogs because I was sure that Dubya would not be re-elected. We met at the Kicking Ass DNC blog and I became the official bartender for those weekend cyber drunk fests.

Now the president's team is just making shit up. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, Dorothy!"

You've all heard the story by now I am sure. About the Merchant Marine graduate who was so happy that Dubya was there to address the graduates that he couldn't help himself and gave the president a big ole bear hug on the stage.

Well, that's what the news media is "telling" us what happened.

But last night something interesting happened. Our local Atlanta NBC affiliate let something slip through the MSM Corporate news filter and guess what?

I WAS PAYING ATTENTION!!

They played the video of the hug! The graduate walked up to the The Commander in Chief and extended his hand first, and then the President opened HIS arms and prompted the hug "heard round the world" instead of the other way around. But what the Anchors were saying happened was not what really happened. And they call themselves Journalists?

Was this story distributed as only a feel good story for local channels or did it hit the cable channels? Anything this positive surely would have ended up on FAUX News. I am now on a mission to find a copy of the video so this can spread through the blogosphere. I need help spreading this story!

I have always been a loyal viewer of 11Alive news because I thought I could trust that what I was viewing was ethical and had journalistic integrity. NO MORE!

Last night, Ted Hall and Brenda Wood were gushing about the "feel good" story of the Merchant Marine graduate who felt compelled to give the President a big bear hug on graduation day. Were they "NOT WATCHING" the accompanying video? It was obvious from my vantage point on my couch that the graduate first extended HIS hand to the President and the President opened HIS arms for the hug like it must have been orchestrated in advance! What a crock!!

I think I will be getting my local news now from another station or the internet or the blogs and/or the alternative media that doesn't cow down to the corporate owners and their pandering to the Republican Party because it is in their best interest.

And by the way, that new ad campaign, "News you can trust, and the balance you deserve!" Another crock of CRAP!

Hotlanta Pride Weekend

My nephew, Just Zack, has agreed to join me with some of his friends so I don't have to venture down alone. Others backed out on me! Sigh!

The next generation is so going to be more tolerant than this current one and for that I am glad. He is my young hero!

The 9 Democratic Female Senators on Larry King Live tonight were sure a sight for sore eyes. Nice to see CNN is giving equal time to the People's Party!

But my best bud Anderson Cooper missed an opportunity to call Kay Bailey Hutchinson the political hack she really is by not asking the tough questions after raking John Kerry over the coals concerning the party's positions on the Iraq war.

I so wanted him to ask this.

But then I guess he would have been fired. Thank goodness for the blog world where I get my news.

He has to play the game especially now that he is CNN's number one star in the 18-49 demographic that the corporate advertising whores covet.
